Courageous faith for this cultural moment

Just three days before William Wilberforce died, the U.K. Parliament passed the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833—the result of Wilberforce’s long fight against slavery. In 1945, at the age of 39, Dietrich Bonhoeffer was executed. He never saw the end of the war. 

While Wilberforce witnessed a cultural and spiritual recovery, Bonhoeffer did not. And yet, neither man was a failure. The banner over both of their lives was faithfulness. We have the same calling that they did: to live with courageous faith where God has placed us. It’s the mission of the Colson Center to help every Christian do that well.  

God has placed all of us in this time and this place for a purpose. It takes Christ-centered courage to lovingly stand for truth rather than conform to the pervasive secular orthodoxy. These social pressures aren’t “out there” anymore.

To stand against the damaging beliefs our culture has embraced, Christians need courageous faith. But courage must be cultivated. The Colson Center exists not just to inform, but to help Christians cultivate a Christian worldview so they can face the unique challenges of our day from the unshakeable foundation of truth.  

We might wonder where our faithfulness today will lead. Like Wilberforce and Bonhoeffer, we don’t know the future of our culture. Even more, it is not up to us. As T.S. Eliot wrote, “For us there is only the trying. The rest is none of our business.” 

What is up to us is to courageously commit ourselves to truth and virtue, to love of God and our neighbors, and to care for the victims of bad ideas in this cultural moment.

  • What is your premium offer policy?

      While we are so grateful for every gift to the Colson Center, Premium offers are not automatically sent as a thank-you for every donation given to the Colson Center in a given month. We are more than happy to send the premium to any donor who expresses interest by either giving through that month’s premium landing page or sending the corresponding reply card in the mail. You can always find the current month’s offer page by clicking the “Give Now” button in the corner of our homepage or by clicking the banner at the very top.

      If you are a monthly donor interested in receiving that month’s premium, please let us know by emailing us at info@colsoncenter.org.

      Please ensure you enter your current shipping address and allow a minimum of 4-6 weeks for your premium offer to be delivered after giving. Please note, we are unable to offer international shipping on premium offers at this time.

  • What can I expect when giving to receive a premium offer?

      The only way we know that you are interested in receiving that month’s premium as a thank-you for your gift is if you give through that month’s premium landing page. You can always find the current month’s offer page by clicking the “Give Now” button in the corner of our homepage or by clicking the banner at the very top.

      When filling out the giving form on a premium offer page, please also ensure that you enter your current shipping address if it’s different from your billing address. 

      If you gave to receive a premium, please allow 4-6 weeks (due to shipping & handling) for your resource to be delivered. If the resource is a digital resource (such as a short course, etc.), you can expect that to be delivered to your email within about a week. 

      **Please note that we are unable to offer international shipping for premium offers at this time.

  • How can I become a monthly donor?

      You can become a monthly donor by selecting “Monthly” under the giving frequency option on any giving page.

  • Can I give by check?

      Yes, you can give by check. Mail your gift via check to the following address:

  • Can I give through a Donor-Advised Fund?

      You can make a donation through any Donor-Advised Fund, such as Blue Give from the Ron Blue Trust, the National Christian Foundation (NCF), Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, The Signatry, or many others. Make your donation to “The Colson Center for Christian Worldview, EIN 90-1117779.”

  • Can I give by an Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT)?

      You can donate by EFT monthly by calling us at 719-602-6164 and requesting a form to complete with your bank information.

  • Can I give stock/securities gifts and ACH transfers?

      Donate stock to the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, EIN 90-1117779, by contacting us at 719-602-6164 to obtain the information for depositing stock in the Colson Center for Christian Worldview’s investment account. If you prefer to make a transfer of cash for larger contributions, please contact us for the bank information.

       

      Your stock gift will equip more believers with a Christian Worldview, and it may reduce your taxes.

       

      By donating appreciated securities that you’ve held for at least a year and a day, you’re able to deduct the full market value of the stock on the date of transfer to The Colson Center for Christian Worldview and avoid paying capital gains tax on the amount of the appreciation.

       

      The stock gift should be completed by unconditional delivery of the stock to The Colson Center for Christian Worldview no later than December 31. Please contact Lynn Damewood, Controller, at 719-602-6164 to obtain the information for deposit in The Colson Center for Christian Worldview’s investment account. Be sure to contact us early to make sure the transfer is completed no later than December 31.

  • Can I make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)?

      If you are 70 1/2 years of age or over, consider making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, EIN 90-1117779. Instead of an otherwise taxable distribution from your IRA, you make a charitable contribution to the Colson Center for Christian Worldview and reduce the amount of your taxable income on the amount given to us.

  • Can I give a legacy gift?

      The Colson Center accepts stock and legacy/planned gifts. You can make a lasting impact for life by listing The Colson Center for Christian Worldview as a beneficiary in your will. We would be honored to continue your activism to equip Christians with a Christian Worldview. Please simply name Colson Center for Christian Worldview, EIN 90-1117779 as a beneficiary of your will or insurance policy. If you have any further questions, please call 719-602-6164.

  • Can I give a matching gift?

      Have your employer match your gift to the Colson Center! If your employer does matching grants, ask them to include the Colson Center for Christian Worldview after you’ve made your gift.

  • Do you partner with Amazon Smile?

  • I'm an international donor. How can I give?

      First of all, thank you for your support of the Colson Center! We’re deeply grateful for your prayers and partnership. Unfortunately, at this time we are only able to process American credit cards. 

      In addition, due to the very high exchange rate for checks drawn from foreign banks, we do not recommend sending checks that are not from American banks. If you have an American credit card, that is the best way for you to make a gift.
