Ministry Position Summary
The Colson Center is seeking a proven fundraiser and leader to serve as the Vice President of Advancement. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with the President. This is a player/coach role with ability to both develop and execute a strategy. The candidate’s primary role will be to cultivate relationships with mid and major donors. In addition, the candidate will lead a team who will work with mid-major donors and oversee the General File. As the chief fundraiser, the Vice President of Advancement will spend considerable time visiting with and stewarding donors, partners, and prospects across the country and representing the Colson Center publicly as an extension of the Senior Leadership Team to secure transformational gifts for our mission.
Key Ministry Responsibilities

Donor Management: Personally manage a portfolio of existing and prospective donors (40%)
- Lead and Develop the Advancement Teams: Lead the mid-major and major gifts team as they manage their portfolios (30%)

Oversee Advancement Plan: Develop and execute a 3-year Advancement Plan for the ministry's mid-major and major fundraising program (20%)

Facilitate Connections: Facilitate connections with major donors including briefings before meetings and follow up afterwards (5%)

Advancement Collateral: Oversee creation of donor-related collateral, both print and electronic appeals, stewardship communications, and meetings (5%)

Minimum Qualifications

Mission Focus: Form transformational relationships with Christians who wish to support Biblical truth, spreading the Gospel, and proclaiming a Christian worldview.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: 10+ years leading an Advancement team for a $10M+ Christian non-profit. Portfolio management of major donors, both of their own and coaching others to do the same.
- Knowledge Areas: The successful candidate must be a great communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills. They must be a good listener and be able to connect the passions and interests of donors with the mission of the ministry. They will lead by example – managing their own portfolio of donors – and be able to coach and mentor members of their team in doing likewise.

Compensation & Benefits
- Position classification: Full-Time Exempt
- Salary range: $145,000-165,000
